One habit that really helps me strengthen my emotional and mental well-being is doing a daily emotional check-in. I take a few minutes to pause and ask myself, “What am I feeling right now?” and “What do I need?” It’s not about fixing anything it’s just about being honest with myself. Whether I’m feeling overwhelmed, peaceful, tired, or even numb, naming it without judgment helps me feel more grounded. It’s like creating space to breathe inside, and over time, I’ve noticed I react less and respond more intentionally. It’s a small habit, but it makes a big difference.
Selg check is so important. With so many things to do in our busy lives we are like rollercoasters. We just jump from 1 activity to the next. For me reflection times in the evening - when the kids are asleep and I am alone - when i can actually hear myself think 🙂
Its then that I ask myself what i have achieved for the day and where from next. I have recently starting asking myself if any of the tasks are useless and it they are not adding any value to my destination and vision then it needs to be turfed. Being busy and running around like a headless chicken does not necessarily mean that you are doing well. You could actually be crumbling. Less is sometimes more. Grab a cuppa coffee and reflect in a corner - does wonders.
