Finding the parents of a lost Rottweiler.
We discovered a Rottweiler living in the wooded area at the bottom of the road I live in. This was a week after Diwali. We needed to find his parents, so we started canvasing. A few neighbours who saw us advertising and leaving meals for him also decided to join us in taking care of him and help spreading the word of a lost furbaby.
We gradually gained his trust, and he was comfortable to come out of the wooded area and let us play with him and my neighbour gladly offered to take him home and care for him while we find his parents. He was a big boy but still a baby only a few months old.
A few days later a man contacted us stating the furbaby was his and explained he went on holiday with his family and left the furbaby with a family member who lived two roads from me. The baby was scared of the fireworks and ran away on the night of Diwali. This was now two weeks later.
We requested he bring proof of ownership as we received several fake calls stating ownership, but no one could provide proof. He arrived to collect the furbaby, and most of the residents were at my neighbour's house to show support and make sure that the person claiming to be the parent is in fact so.
He produced all the relevant documents including photos and videos of the furbaby and the furbaby was so excited and ecstatic to see this man and his family. The man had a harness which the Roti saw and excited wanted it to put on him. He then jumped into the vehicle and happily made himself comfortable showing without a doubt that they were his family.
The neighbours displayed unity by showing support and shared responsibility to feed and take care of the furbaby until he was reunited with his family.
