For financial goal setting, I identified both a short-term and a long-term goal. My short-term goal is to build an emergency fund of R6 000 within six months. To achieve this, I plan to open a separate savings account, automate a monthly transfer of R1 000, and reduce non-essential spending to free up cash. My long-term goal is to save R120 000 for a property deposit over the next five years. To reach this target, I will contribute R2 000 every month to a high-interest investment or savings account and reinvest any bonuses or side-hustle income to speed up the process.
